Re: outdrive oil

If you are going to do any work on your own, I would recommend purchasing a repair manual for it. There is a lot of good information inside from what type of fluids and (more important) how much, on up to rebuilding the whole engine. A worthwhile investment of around $35. I write down part numbers of stuff in the back and keep track of what was replaced and when, just so it is all in one place.

What marooned said, CLYMER B770 covers your model, it reccomends light engine oil in a 270 (10w30 or 10w40)minimum SG rating. It will take approx. 2.8 qts. When using the dipstick, don't screw it in to check level.
