Outdrive or prop hub damage/

::hello all, i have a 1984 mechanical shift omc stringer 5.7 litre motor while underway at sea running 3200 rpms apprx. 26 mph the boat suddenly reved up and came out of gear. had to be towed in the impeller shaft must be okay because i just replaced it. and with the engine running it dont over heat so water is definately being supplied i havent removed the drive yet but wanted input first before doing so thanks , jim

sounds like you spun a prop hub

i would love to think so lol but dont think so because i hear a clicking sound like the thing is just beginning to engage in forward and reverse same clicking sound however if it was a prop hub how would i know for sure thanks bro

i am going to exchange prop with my spare and see if it is a spun prop hub tomorrow morning i frekin hope it's just as simple as the hub there isn't too many simple fixes in my life!! lol
