Hey folks, just wondering about this. I have a 2003 4.3L mercruiser I/O and it will be stored on the trailer in a warehouse. I ask because if I need to store it with the drive down then I cannot remove the battery till I get the boat to the storage place and I also have to jack up the trailer to allow room for the outdrive to go down, otherwise it hits the floor. You see this is allot more work.
Can I just remove the battery before hand and leave the outdrive in the up position and store it that way? Thanks

its better to store it down. Better for the bellows and that no water is in the drive.
Just store it with it as low as possible. It does not need to be to full down or trimmed in.

Paul..having an investment give you years of relatively trouble free fun requires work, its the nature of the thing, take the time to do it right. Not to mention a cracked bellows can sink you pretty quick.

Always store with drive down. My old boat never had a bellows change in the 17 years that I had it.

since ya gotta remove the drive for year end inspection of the gimble brg and ujoints + alignment check anyways. ya can always store it with the drive off too.

i'm gonna have mine in the basement again this year..

other than that. store it down.... dig a hole for it to go down maybe?
