outrigger installation???????

hi all i have a 1973 34 ft allmand sportfish and would like to install riggers.the problem is i dont know what size and how to mount them or where to mount them. .also has anybody had any experiences with them mounted onto a radar arch i have seen these mounts on the web for good prices with poles.also im looking for a kinda cheat way out because they wont be used that often any ifo would be appreciated ..... :confused:

We use Planer Boards up here in Lake Ontario...

What kind of layout is the boat? Cabin? Flying bridge? Do the sides of the radar arch come close to the gunwales? <br />Most boats of this size have a cabin and the outriggers are usually mounted to sides of the cabin. Remember the purpose of the outrigger is to get separation of the lines. The further out the better, so you want to mount them as far out as possible. Outriggers that mount to the side of the cabin are not cheap though. But maybe you can find a used pair someplace. Try e-bay.
