No.
It needs to ground out to sound off.
Test it: key on then ground the orange lead to the block.
That should make the buzzer sound off.
That motors 29 I imagine the buzzer is too.
It can be replaced with a car or motorcycle horn.
Just make sure the wires are hooked up right.
They can be mounted backwards and not work.

Just read the post you added to a closed one.
The alarm going off probably means it's running hot.
Test it.

Well, that is the buzzer that is activated by the sensor (with orange wire) mounted on the motor's head. I would recommend replacing the impeller first and then go from there.

No Title

You bought a USED boat from a USED boat dealer and you trust him??:rolleyes:
The impeller, pull the drive and check it.
Or take it back to the dealer and tell him it's overheating.

The sending unit on the motor, is it in right? Is it still in good shape?
With a meter you can test the sender in a pan of water on a stove.

One of my tools is a temp gun. Under$20 Amazon.
This tells me if it's really getting hot and where.

The pics are from a motor that was pumping water and the alarm was going off.
The heat gun found the hot spots
