Hey Friends<br />I have a 2003 DF 70 that runs just fine untill I push it to aroung 5500 or higher then the water coming out of the little pisser gets very hot and the motor shuts down due to high temp<br />I was thinking of replacing the impeller but have still not found a manuel for it. I guess the local Dealer that is 30 miles away is no longer there so i have to go even further.<br />Can anyone tell me if they have had this problem before and if they think it may be the impellor as well and if anyone has a manuel for this i would sure love to get some pages emailed to me if you would <br />thanks Paul

You can buy a manual here on iboats, go to the bottom left of this web page. What is the maximum rpm you can reach at WOT. If you are overpropped that may contribute to the high speed overheating. Leaking head gaskets can cause high speed overheating. After you get your manual replace the water pump impeller and check the thermostat. You may want to verify that the engine is actually overheating and that you don't have an overzealous temp sensor.

thanks for the help jimd. unfortanatley clymer or seloc does not mke a manual for the 2003,s yet and I talked to the nearest Dealership yesterday and they were supposed to call me back but has not done so yet.<br />I did take the boat out yesterday and now I am only able to get to about 4000 rpm for a few minutes before it kicks itself down. oh wide open throtle would be around 5700 rpm depending on the prop I am running but I can not maintain that for very long, only like a minute or so. I have started to try to get to the impellor with out the manual but am taking it slow because I do not want to mess anything up.<br />I am an automotive mechanic and some older boat motors but this new motor is a little different
