I have a 1967 Wards Seaking 6, (that i'm still looking for a propeller, shearpin and nut) but it runs... I can run it for a few minutes then the lower part gets really hot and I noticed no water coming out of the hole where i believe its supposed to. I took off the lower unit and checked the impeller and it seemed to be fine. Any ideas?

seemed to be fine........did it still have the bobbles on the end of each vane? Was the housing in good condition? was the drive pin/key in place ? You can test the unit in a bucket/barrel with an electric drill to see if its ok before you fit it .....blockage in the waterwasys ...muffs not recomended ..stick it in a barrel with the anti ventilation plate about 4 in below the water.....let us know

Re: Over Heating problem

Good news, I found a propeller and blew out the water pump hole with a jet stream of water. Now it shoots out water like a champ and doesn't get hot.. Next question how to adjust my carb..... I have it running and when I increase the speed and slow it down it acts like its either flooding or not getting gas, so i turned a screw not sure which one and then it idles fine at the start position then dies on increased speed?

Re: Over Heating problem

Check gas for water. Then clean the carb.Making sure the low speed jet is clear.
Top front of carb is the air screw. It should be set at 1 and 1/8 turn out from gently seated.
If the screw has ANY grooves or cuts it needs to be replaced. This have a remote tank?If so then check the fuel pump.
You have ethanol in the gas? It's messing with the older hoses and most will need to be replaced.J
