Over heating....

I have a 4.3 mercruiser that is getting hot at full throttle but if I back off a bit it will cool down. I replaced the engine driven pump today and it still does the same thing. I checked the lower hose coming out of the engine water pump and it is dry. What is wrong???

May you should post over in the I/O board and you will get some help, I am not much help for I/O. I think maybe there is a pump in the I/O itself.
