I have a 1987 Yamaha 90 hp outboard. It would run up to 1500rpm loaded or in neutral then drop to 800rpm then right back to 1500. This surge stopped when I lifted the over rev wire from it's terminal. The lead comes from the molded case of the control box and not a sensor to the box. Will it hurt to run the motor with this lead lifted?
