boat wasn't getting on plane, and overheat alarm kept coming on. I cleaned out the carbs and put the boat in the water yesterday, everything worked perfect
Now today I put the boat back in the water and the alarm sounded after just five minutes, the water pump seems to be working and water is spitting out good, what else could be the problem?
I have a 71 50hp johnson

I think you should get a manual will save a lot of trouble & time either borrow one from the library or buy one bottom left corner of the page. They are worth their weight in gold :)
