Need some more expert help guys.
I have a 1985 200hp Crossflow, OMC Seadrive that overheats at idle. Replaced waterpump and T-stats. Ran on muffs bad. Pulled port side head, ran water through the head, good flow. Pulled lower unit and put garden hose on water inlet tube good flow up through the power head to where it enters the head (under lowest piston and 2 top deflector holes. Replaced the 3 deflectors and reinstalled the head.

Ran it in a tank got no water coming from exhaust ports at idle, ran it up to about (tach not working) 2000 rpm got some water to come out the exhaust ports, as soon as I idled down the water flow from the exhaust port stopped and the heads starting getting much hotter. Didn’t want to wait for the alarm as it has already gone off twice, once while idling to catch bait and once on a test run. On the test run, we cruised through the bay on plane a couple times for about 15 minutes the alarm didn't go off until about a minute after coming off plane while idling into the dock.

Compressing test 90 psi all cylinders before head change, now all 85 on side with new head gasket.
This is a manufacture rebuilt engine with about 100hr on it.
Any and all help will be much appreciated!

Re: overheating at idle

Papasage, got a brand new waterpump kit, new plate and all.
By the way there is a steady stream of water from the telltale.
