Volvo AQ240A/270
This is an update to my previos email about my Carver shutting down from an overheating problem in the South Bay.
Back in port,
I Changed the impeller, old one looked used but still good.
I pulled the plugs, no water or fouling. Plugs look clean (changed them about 2 months ago). Oil in valve colver and hose coming from back of carburator all seem normal, no milky oil.

What else can I check to make sure that the head gasket isnt blown or other internal damage from the overheat shutdown?

None of that other stuff is going to tell you if you have a blown head gasket or not, but a compression test and leakdown test will.

Service Bulletin 97-25
