Volvo AQ240A/270
This is an update to my previos email about my Carver shutting down from an overheating problem in the South Bay.
Back in port,
I Changed the impeller, old one looked used but still good.
I pulled the plugs, no water or fouling. Plugs look clean (changed them about 2 months ago). Oil in valve colver and hose coming from back of carburator all seem normal, no milky oil.

What else can I check to make sure that the head gasket isnt blown or other internal damage from the overheat shutdown?

I have not checked the thermostat. I do have a IR gun that is reading the same temperature as the temp guage. It is running normal about 165 and is not overheating anymore. I think I picked up something in the water intake that caused it to run hot and shutdown. Just dont know what else may go wrong when I go out again.

If everything is running normal, take it out and run it.
I do have a method for checking if things will go wrong in the future, but it seems to have lost it's accuracy, so I had to send it to the shop for calibration.
