I have a 1999 Glatron with a volvo penta 3.0...the engine starts and runs fine on idle. As soon as I'm up on plane, the temps quickly rises. When I come back down it quickly goes back to normal. I had the thermostat and implala replaced and still does the same thing. I'm looking for some info to where to go next???

Re: overheating

The Riser is the big block of cast iron bolted to the back-end of the exhaust manifold......
Where the Exhaust,+ Cooling Water Leave the engine.........

Bring it Back to your Dealer,+ Have THEM Finish the job they Started.......
Back-Flushing from the T-Stat will normally flush the Broken Pieces of impeller out through the in-coming water line, from the outdrive....

Reguardless, You've got a Flow Restriction, SomeWhere............. :(
Good Luck.......

BTW, Find yourself a Manual for your driveline......
Then You'll Know What I'm Talking About...........

Re: overheating

I would double check the Implala. Take it back to the dealer and tell them it's still overheating.

Re: overheating

Pull the hose coming from lower unit that goes into the thermostat when it is in water and running - should squirt out like a small water hose. If good there - ask dealer if the impeller was actually gone - if yes, you may get away with pulling the head and removing rubber from the cooling passages that will be stuck in the head gasket - BUT...
If you got it pretty hot - probably will need to replace head.
If it runs fine in driveway with ears on -- but heats up under load, I'd look to cracked head - then block.
