overheating

hey guys, got a question
i have a 1988 3.0 mercruiser alpha one i/o. the problem is that it only over heats in gear at a idle. neutral or any kind of throttle its good. i replaced the whole water pump, the water pick up hoses, temp sender, t-stat. and it still does it . any idea whats going on.

also it was fine for 3 weeks after i did the water pump. and i tokk the boat out and ran it at wot for the first time and thats when it started.

what is the idle speed??

did you check the water passages in the drive, transom assy hose, coolers (if equipped) for blockages/kinks/impeller pieces??

yah i just did the bellows and double checked everything while i had it apart. new water hoses. pulled manifold end caps and replaced the water shutter. im stumped. it idles in gear at 700
