I have a 2001 OX66. When I am running at high RPM's occaissionally the RPM's will fluctuate between 4300 and 4000 for 5 or 10 seconds and then level back out. It happens fairly regularly without warning and with no pattern. The funny thing is that I have noticed that the trim/tilt guage also flickers up and down at the same time as the RPMs. I have noticed that when I increase the trim the problem stops.
It is not a fuel problem. For unrelated reasons, I have had my entire fuel system replaced ( tank, hoses, pumps and filters). It feels like it must be electircal.
Any suggestions. This has been going on for a year and it is driving me nuts. Otherwise the engine runs well.
