Having issues with losing RPMs after reaching wide-open throttle. Just perform maintenance on the engine replacing all three low-pressure fuel pumps VST filter water separator filter and fuel filter on the engine. Also replaced O2 sensor. Motors a 2000 SX 225 with about 800 hours.
Just came back from a test run monitoring the fuel pressure at the VST tank it held pressure flawlessly at 38 pounds.
My problem? After reaching wide open throttle which is about 5100 RPMs. The motor seems to slow down and RPMs about three or 400.
If I pulled the throttle lever back a little and then give it full throttle again it'll pick back up to 5100 RPMs but then mediately start slowing down three 400 rpm's.
Any suggestions on what to check next. Is it possible throttle positioning sensor is sending bad information back to the ECu?
