Hi, I have a 1987 Regal 233xl. I would like to repaint the sides of the boat. Presently burgundy in color. Some of the fibergalss have faded and chalked, more than any wax or othersolution can remedy. What would be the best paint to use for a marine application and am way over my head in this project. I would be painting a 3 foot wide section along both sides of the boat.
Thanks Roman

Before it was banned in California, I used DuPont Imron.

Its a nice two part epoxy paint that sprays on vey nicely.

A little pricey, but worth it

Roman,

Because it is not below the waterline, most automotive paints would be fine. Especially ones that you can add a hardener to.

I would look into having a local body shop spray it, unless you are capable.

Todays marine paints are formulated for excellent brushing results ..Interlux, Petit, etc ... "Runabout Restoration" by Jim Anderson is a great source of info on painting, and fiberglass crack repair, crazing, etc etc ... Id get it if I were you!
