Does anyone have any experience using Bilgekote by Interlux for painting their bilge? Does it adhere well and do you have any special suggestions to have it come out looking good.

Best suggestion...... CLEAN clean clean and then clean clean clean again. It is all in the prep ;) but bilge paints work great.

Ayuh,.... I think it's 'bout impossible to beat a good power washin', 'n slatherin' on a coat of Rustoleum enamel, in white....

It's reasonably Cheap, 'n lasts darn near Forever...

I'm painting mine white: easy to see - with perfection Interlux. I have used bilge coat in the past - it never came off, but it is too dark for me. Proper prep is the name of the game!

Re: Painting bilge

I recently used it (Interlux BilgeKote White) . . .

As has been stated . . . cleaning (really de-greasing) is the key to success. I did 2 coats. I did notice that it yellowed slightly after about a week or so, but not really an issue, since it is the bilge. I preferred white versus the gray that is also available.

Hey tpenfield the stuff you used must be pretty corrosive because it looks like it has eaten your engine! It looks like I have some scrubbin' ahead.
Thanks for the advice.
