Is it GelCoat now ?

If it is..then just sand it with 80gr paper (DA if your good with tools or power orbital sander if your not )

fill your repairs ( marine bondo type filler if not through to glass..glass filler if through gelcoat into glass but not TOO deep (( duraglass style filler )) fair out ..

Tape/Mask off/ tarp if needed .. bring heat up to at least 60 deg F.

really depends on your working area..hard to explain but if you get to the Spraying part of it..really look out for loads of precautions. (resporator, suit, another person just there, psi requirements,Gel additives,Etc. )

thats why we in the trade get paid..

If you can ( and I know you can ) do the repairs yourself...get it all ready ... you can get somebody to do the spraying and fininshing with minimal costs.

If you want to do it yourself all the way..then pls do some investigating..or Email me.

Have you tried to buff out the scratches? Gelcoat is many times thicker than automotive paint, and you would be surprised how well gelcoat will buff using the proper compound. Unless the scratches are completely through the gelcoat finish you might be able to bring it back to pristine condition for a fraction of the repaint cost.
