I have a 1970 Glastron V166. I'd like to paint it, not the whole thing, just the green trim area. Has anyone had any luck painting a boat hull and making it stick? Is it the same as painting a fiberglass car? Also, whats the best source for new seats? I'd like to spend less than I know a boat shop is going to charge me for the original seats.

Re: painting

We painted the hull of a 1977 Jet-Ski a long time ago. Prepped it like any painting project and used a urethane paint. It held up pretty well. Todays paints may not adhere as well since many of the old ingredients were hazardous.
Seats?
www.boatfix.com
www.boatersworld.com
They both seem to have good prices and reasonable shipping. I have purchased parts from BoatFix and purchased a couple of pontoon boat lounge seats from Boaters World. Both companies were good to do business with.

Charles :)

I bought boat seats through Boater's World twice. Once in the store and the other online. Shipping is free online right now if you spend $100.
