Hey guys I am in the process of painting my boat, from the rub rails on down I am using imron above the rail it will be a different color.below the rail accounts for 85% of the painted surface. This may sound like a stupid question but I was wondering if the top part could be painted with spray cans.(like Krylon) I was thinking for touch up reasons it would be easier to do and the area goes in through the interior and will not get much wear and would be easier to paint.I am wondering if anyone has done this and if it held up well.I would be putting a clear coat over it when done.Does this sound doable or am I just being lazy,Thanks for the imput.

Re: painting

I doubt that you would be satisfied with either the looks or durability of a sprey can paint job. Do a good job in preparation and use a quality brush and marine paint.

It doesn't matter if you're using rattle cans, or a HVLP gun.......
You've Still Got to Sand It, or the Paint will Never Stick.........
So, Why go thru All that Work,+ Not use the HVLP gun ??????? ;)
