Does anyone know where I can get a starter rope guide for my 1972 Evinrude 9.5 hp? I believe it is a brass grommet. Mine is worn down and sharp, and is shredding up all my starter ropes. Thanks<br /><br />Brent

Hello.<br />You should be able to get it at your local omc dealer.Otherwise try "Twin City Outboards" which as I recently found out ,has spare parts for engines that were never built. Treat them with respect for they will save the lives of many old engines.<br />good luck.

BRent311, not sure what part of MS your from but I would give Ed's Marine in Jackson a call. He's always had the parts I was looking for in stock and has always answered questions I've had. If he can't help you, try Keith's Marine in Jonesville, LA. They always seemed to keep a good stock of parts for old and new engines.

Brent,<br /> I will look in my supply tomorrow morning, check the part numbers and see if i have it. If i do I will ship it in with the rest of your coils etc.. How does that sound>?
