Part no longer available, conversion option?

The bracket that holds my control cables to the engine is missing the cover. It seems there are 2 styles, my is the "other" style that doesn't seem to be available any longer. My question is would it be possible to change it out to the standard style?

The parts printout I have is from 1978-1988 Mercury 200 model number 1200746

I am missing the cover for '39', so if I bought 34, 35, and 36 could I change it to the other style?

Here's how it is mounted currently.

I would like to get it mounted properly so I can get it adjusted and maybe get all I can out of it. :lol:

Maybe, I have no idea. Mine is missing, so I don't know what it is supposed to look like. :lol:
