Part question

I recently took my boat to a mechanic and when they returned it my motor was missing the part that is removable that props up the motor when it's out of the water. They claim they didn't have it, so it looks like I'm going to have to buy a new one, but I don't know what this part is called or where I can get a new one. below is a picture of the part I am speaking about. Any help would be appreciated.

Here's a link to the parts and schematics from my model. I can't find this part anywhere on it.

Re: Part question

That part was not made by Johnson. It was an aftermarket accessory item. I used to sell them years ago, but don't remember who made them. I'll have to ponder on that awhile. I believe it was called a half tilt trailering lock--or something like that. BTW, I have one on my motor, so know that you aren't crazy.

Re: Part question

ive never seen that before.those holes are for putting a tilt pin in so you could adjust the trim of the motor.what you show in the pic is not something that's suppose to be there as far as I know.never seen one on the tons of motors ive worked on like that thing.F R you posted before me ,ive never seen that before.you learn something new everyday around here.

Re: Part question

Thanks for the info. I have a question though. If that isn't meant to come with the motor, then how are you supposed to lift the motor up far enough that when I trailer it I don't have to worry about my prop hitting the pavement if I hit a bump?

The only other outboard I've owned was a 15hp Force and it had a lock so when it was lifted up it locked automatically in place.

Well, I don't know about the motor model that you have, but some did not have a decent trailering lock. That's why we sold aftermarket ones. We aren't crazy, here is one.....you will have to measure to see if it will fit your motor. Half Tilt Lock HTL 0050 1971 1972 Johnson Evinrude Outboard Motor Lift Brace | eBay

Another option is a "Transom Saver", available here at iboats. It is a prop between the tilted outboard and trailer frame.
