Anyone know were to get parts for these guys beyond impellers and seal kits??

I need a shifter cradle for the lower end on the drive gear shaft.

Any help would be great.

I've been searching through this forum for a while and picked up lots of good info thanks, Justin

Part number 303381 cradle, available from any Evinrude dealer. But hang onto your pockets, it's about 40 bucks. Look for a good used one. Place a free want ad at www.aomci.org Webvertize classified ads page.

THANKS A BUNCH GUYS!!!!

The guy at sea-way was great, he found my part no prob. It was 40 bucks too. Maybe I will try the free classifieds, I also need a impeller kit with seal and a new impeller for a 59' johnson 10hp.

Whats a evinrude 1959' 5.5 hp with a new impeller kit, new seals, gone through cleaned up and put together right with a power head that has good compression and runs great WORTH? $$$$$

I would like to fix the 5.5hp up, and put new seals and impeller in my 10 hp and just keep it.

You sure gotta love these old outboards, they were made good. All sae no metric and they still run great even though they are about 20 years older than me.:D

Frankly I'd be hesitant to go for a used cradle. Remember that's an essential part of moving the clutch-dog, and wear on the sides of the cradle ensures the 'dog will make incomplete shifts, wearing the gears--and THOSE are expensive, IF available!

I've seen lots of worn out clutch dogs, but few worn out shift cradles. I wouldn't pay $40 unless I absolutely had to.

The value is subjective. The only way to know what its worth is to sell it and see what you get. Peter Hunns "The Old Outboard Book" gives it a top value of $200 with tank for a "pretty" outboard that runs well. I'd say that's about right. I did sell a 1962 Evinrude 5.5 hp with tank last year that I tuned-resealed and painted for $300. I figure that was top dollar.
