What you run into with alot of these internet businesses is they're not a store front business. They are just the middle man for another parts source. You order the part and send them money which they in turn order the part and send another company money. If the warehouse doesn't have the part or has discontunied the part or backordered the part, then things like this happen.

Yep I have done business with them 3 times with no problems. I believe they do actually have a marine repair business in Loisiana...I ordered a water pump kit once and ups lost it. they had no problems sending another... although it did take some time as they waited for a week before sending the replacement. good luck

I got my carb kit in 3 days; $20 + $10 S&H. I also called with questions and they were helpful and knowledgable.

Re: Parts from Aftermarket Discount Marine

Well most of my fiasco is over. My parts finally arrived this morning. I am still waiting on an alignment tool.

I originally ordered parts on july 12th, I was in no hurry so I had them shipped ground UPS. I figured I would have my parts in 5 or 6 days from my past experience. At the 3rd day I e-mailed the company and they confirmed the order was shipped out no problem. After a week plus I called the company to inquire about the order I was told they would look it up and call me back. I called the next day and went over the whole deal again, then I was told oops we forggot to ship them, but I will ship 2nd day air to have by Teusday. As of tuesday no parts, and the company doesn't want to take a minute and give me the tracking numbers  .
I called first thing this morning and they were not open yet. My parts showed up at 9:18 this morning. I tracked the package and it wasn't shipped until late yesterday and it was shipped next day air to arrive today. The person I talked to said they were shorthanded this week. I can't see how they stay in business if this is typical. Hopefully this is an isolated case.

Sounds to me that they dropped the ball, realized it,and did the best they could. It happens.

Next/second day isn't perfect either, and that is the shipper.
DHP

sometimes you aren't given a tracking number because the parts are being shipped from another company located someplace else. and is out of the control of the middleman. as captn ken said.

Q) is basicpower.com a middleman??

sl

Yes they dropped the ball. Lets see about three times but all is well now the alignment tool came today,it was shipped yesterday next day air from the manufacturer.

I am happy with the parts I recieved, just would have liked them a little sooner.

I got a transom service parts kit for $89 so thats not bad .
It included all 3 bellows plus clamps,1 gimbal bearing, shift lever, shift laver screw plus bushing and seal for the shift lever, and an outdrive gasket & oring set.

Can't beat the price.
Well I couldn't anyway.
