I am in the process of ordering a new motor. ordering a rebuilt 350 from rapido marine to go repower my 85 aq290 with 290 drive. I am also buying new exhaust manifolds and risers, starter, fuel pump and alternator. I have never done an engine swap and was wondering what parts I may need to purchase. I figure I will need a new intake manifold gasket and oil pan gasket but cant think of what else will be needed. I already got a seal kit and bellows for the drive. I will have some help for the job but would like to have everything there so it can be pulled, parts swapped to new engine and dropped back in. I would also appreciate any tips or tricks to make the job go easier. I read there is more then 1 way to disconnect the drive to pull out and was wondering what method would work best for what im doing.

Re: parts needed for engine swap

Now's your chance to have a Q/E build done if *Rapido Marine will do this build for you.*

Be sure and replace the PDS bearings and seals in the flywheel cover. Don't miss this chance while the engine is out and while the transmission is off.
1 6206, 1 6007 and 2 35x62x7mm single lip seals for about $40.

If you pull the engine with the f/c attached, at least replace the inner cushion ring, or better yet, both rings. *(the inner cushion does the water sealing)
You will also need to go through the one-time engine alignment triangulation procedure.

If you go with one of the HTGR starter motors for the 153 tooth flywheel, you'll have better cranking rpm.
