Hi friends. We recently picked up a 1977 Arrowglass Cougar that had been sitting 4 years. I removed most of the rotted flooring and replaced. Despite being very cautious with the circular saw, I managed to cut through the hull - small cut mybe 1" long. I cleaned and sanded the area then patched with JB Waterweld. Wil this hold permanently for a season or two? Everything I've been able to find online indcates it should be ok. Needless to say I am extremely irrititated with myself. Thank you for any replies!

Well, you replaced the stringers, you have them glassed in, so you should have some glass and resin left over. Grind the area from both sides, lay in some glass and smooth it out. A dab of gelcoat and wetsanding/buffing, it'll be a proper repair.

Thank you. Stringers appeared to be intact. Rotted sections of decking were removed and 3/4" pywood glued down.

Did you wrap the deck (both sides) in fiberglass?

I think the JB patch might hold up for a season, but you'd really want to grind down the area and do a proper repair using fiberglass, it's pretty critical that no holes are in the hull so of all repairs you don't want to shortcut that.
