Patching I/O "hole"

Im trying to search for old threads on patching an I/O "hole." Hopefully someone has some links with pics.

I plan on taking my OMC out and throwing an outboard on the back. Is this possible? Any advice on what to used for the patch? Will the stern be "structural" enough to support an outboard this way?

Did you read the posts about Transom Brackets? I think that is the best way to go, albeit expensive.
