I am looking to get a second prop for my boat,

My rig is a Princecraft Pro 176 - 2007 - 1400-lbs aluminium
Engine is Mercury 115 - 4 strokes - prop is a Blackmax 13 1/4 X 17 P (alu)
RPM range is 5800 to 6400 at WOT.

Actual performance is max RPM of 6200 to 6300-RPM - max speed on GPS is 38 to 40-mph with 2 peoples in boat and fishing gear.

If I want to go with a SS Patriot from Turning Point - do I need to drop the pitch and if so - how much ? one or two inches down in pitch

Thanks

You might do a search for Aluminum hustler hp props. Deliver close to stainless performance at about 1/3 the price.I would go for the same pitch.
If your have no problem with ventilation(cavitation) you may be able to raise the motor. If you could gain an inch you might get a couple of mph.at no cost.

I know I have re-posted this lots of times but I still believe it has some valuable information for those looking at Turning Point propellers or those thinking about purchasing a Stainless prop.
Like the title says, "My Review" it doesn't necessarily mean you will see the same results? What I learned on here is just because it works great on one application does not mean it will work great on "all" applications. Enjoy........Irv

Re: Patriot from Turning Point

Thank you Steel and Ivor,

I am not looking for any better performance, but since I want to get a second prop in case ....
I thouht that the Patriot will be a good option to go.

As for the Hustler - I know well this product - I had two of those on my previous boat and they worked great for me.

What about the Legacy - is it the same quality as the Hustler ? Because with the Legacy I don't need to buy a second hub, since it does fit onto the Merc hub.

The Legacy is the same as a Hustler, just a different hub.

from the turningpoint website:

Using the same High Performance Stainless Steel blade patterns as our aluminum Hustler? series, Legacy propellers incorporate a ?square hub? design that is compatible with our MasterTORQUE Hub System as well as Michigan Wheel??s XHS? and Mercury??s Flo Torq? hubs.
