Re: Paypal ?

Paypal used to have issues with European customers (my PayPal account has never been able to complete one single payment) but recently they've established a separate Europe operation.

I think the detailed conditions can be found on PayPals agreement paper. Security is a main concern for all online payment services. As I understand it the seller is safe when PayPal recognize the payment even if theamount hasn't actually arrived at your bank account.

once the money is in your paypal account, it's yours.

MY - make sure you have proof of shipment and POD if you can get it. That is key if there is a dispute. I had it happen once and that was the first thing they asked for.

"once the money is in your paypal account, it's yours"

Furthest thing from the truth. The sender can cancel the transaction, or the CC charge and the money is debited from you.

-Roger

Re: Paypal ?

CCrew is correct.
He can do a chargeback on his CC. I don't fully understand how that works.

You've probably seen some EBay sellers that won't accept credit card transfers due to the possible chargback.

How's his feedback? That's your key.
If it makes you feel better, I'd call his issuing bank (if you know it) or PayPal themselves.
PayPal's security is better than a rabid Rotweiller on steroids!
I've had excellent customer service from them.

You could also take all the money out of your PayPal account and wait to see what happens.
If PayPal tries to get the money back, they can't. Ultimately it would freeze your account though.

EDIT:

Oops! didn't see that you already transfered the money to your bank account.
If you have a credit card or debit card tied to PayPal, then It's possible they can get the money back that way if a chargeback occurs.

I assume you have a checking account tied to PayPal as well? I'm not sure if PayPal can take it that way either.

I use 'virtual' card numbers when dealing with anything on the internet, so there would be no way they could take money from me (once I have it off PayPal).
Maybe you can set something like that up on your PayPal, or remove whatever card that is tied to your PayPal account?

I'd just give them a call to ease your worry.

H.
