Hello all,
This 5.0 Mpi amazes me more and more with every day:eek: Once again I have a question and I did search this in my manual and cannot find. On the starboard side there is a pcv valve (i think it's a pcv valve-correct me if I'm wrong) that has hose that goes somewhere under the flame arrestor. On the port side there is some kind of 90 degree simple fitting that has plastic cheap hose (wire cover) that is about 12 inches long and is not hooked up to anything on one side. Is that the way it should be? It's kind of greasy too..... How often should the pcv valve be replaced?

Do you mean it is a pvc fitting that exits through the port side of the hull? Is that possibly the outlet to the bilge pump?

No, he's talking about the crankcase vent on the rocker cover....

Not sure on your particular engine, would need the serial number for that, but on many there is a PCV on one side, and just a 90? elbow on the other.

Thank you for your help.

Hi,
Thank you. So now I know that it's crankcase went thus the hose does not have to be hooked up to anything right? I guess hose is there so all the drippings do not end up on the engine???
Thanks
