Thinking of adding a hatch aft of the mast on a pearson 30. Is it OK to cut 18"x18" hole there, or would that destroy any structural integrity?
Also, any hints on sealing the hatch. The curve of the deck may make it difficult.
Thanks.
medic, you should not have any structural issues but the camber on the top will be a problem.. unless you can find a hatch (Im assuming you want an after market lexan unit) with some camber built into it, you will need to glass some risers into the cabin top to level the area where the hatch goes.. not to bad a job but a bit of a challenge non the less...I think some of the manufacturers of hatches do have some with a camber built in.. might try Bomar...
