I have a Pelican Predator small pre-formed fishing boat that I use to bass fish with a trolling motor only. You can view a picture of this boat at directboats.com. You can find this boat by either the category or brand name searches on the left. When you find the boat you will see two pictures of it. Click on the smaller picture and it will show you a full screen top view of the boat and you can see the front trolling motor mount. You can see from this picture that the entire boat is encircled with a rubber bumper guard. The front trolling motor mount is offset left of center and it sets back 2 and 1/2" behind this rubber bumper. I have a Minn Kota 65Ta clamp mounted trolling motor I use for this boat. Because the mount sets back from the rubber bumper my trolling motor will not tilt to the full vertical position. I'm looking for some kind of auxillary mount or some way that will move my trolling motor out so that the motor will tilt full vertical. I've thought about placing a board on the outside under the clamp but the clamp only has enough clearance for about a 1/2" board and this still does not move the motor far enough out. There is also no way to use a gator type mount either. Any suggestions?
