I need a head and intake/exhaust for a Volvo Penta 3.0 which are pricey but I see OMC and mercrusier parts all over for a lot less. From pics it looks all the same - GM block w/ a GM head (but with different names stamped in) and for the most part I found the intake/exhaust mani's all look the same. I have to start a parts hunt so I am just wondering if anyone knows for sure that the block is the same on the OMC, Penta, and on the Mercruiser?

Thank you guys

Ayuh,.... The Block, 'n the Head are the same....

The intake, 'n exhaust manifolds are Not the same...
Sizes, 'n locations of holes, move between the manufacturers,....
Inlet, 'n outlet diameters change too...

nice, thats what it was looking like - I was thinking about switching the head and exhaust (as a pair) to either the OMC or mercruiser for one they are cheaper and two the specs say a little more hp - ignoring price and slight power gain, what intake/exhaust maker do you feel is the better?

to the website admin - I love the auto save feature, very nice ;)
