Hi all, would anyone have any Volvo Penta specialty tools they would consider renting in the Tablerock Lake area of SW Missouri. I'm needing to do some repairs on the lower unit of a SX-M, thanks, Charlie

Re: Penta specialty tools

Hi Jammer, I went ahead and bought the 2 press tools, adjusting plate, and puller. After a little research, it looks like there is no way to ensure a correct installation without these tools and I guess I'm just too much of a perfectionest LOL. I did make my own housing puller. But I appreciate the offer and if you are ever in need of the tools I now own I will gladly return the favor and let you borrow them. Thanks again, Charlie
I have a Propshaft Bearing Housing remover for an SX I will let you use. Im at Lake of the Ozarks. PM me.

Looks like this....Volvo Grip Tool 3850707 | eBay

Its used to remove the propshaft from the lower unit.

Also have the Nut Holder that is used to remove/install the Pinion nut in the lower unit. Looks like this:

tools for rent

tools for rent

Hi, I'm needing to do some repair work on my '04 Penta SX-M lower unit but I'm not wanting to buy all the special Penta tools considering I would probably only need them once every 5 yrs or so. So I was checking if anyone who owns them may be interested in letting me rent them. I'm at Port Of Kimberling City at Tablerock Lake in SW Missouri. I need the adjusting plate 613, press tool 621 and 627, puller 623, prop housing remover 707, prop shaft socket wrench 598, and the gauge extension 602. These all start with 3850. I know many of these could be probably "home made" but time is at a premium for me right now plus I'm kinda of a perfectionist and don't want it failing on me down the road because I did'nt have the proper tools to do it right. I know the repair shop has the tools and I've not ruled out taking it there but the DIY in me is calling. Thanks for reading everyone.
