What does everyone use as a replacement for perfect seal? Looking for something I can pick up locally since I need it this weekend.

Thanks for the permatex referral.

How about waterpump alignment pins, for something that seems critical to waterpump alignment they are hard to find. I'm working on an SEI116 sterndrive but everything I've read says use same parts and steps as mercruiser.

So, I just replaced my water pump a couple weeks ago and didn't use any pins. I was just extremely careful to align the components as I stacked them. I did however, see a video where a guy made some. He went to the hardware store and bought two bolts with the same thread form (maybe 1/4-20) and cut the heads of the bolts off...

Aligning then securing with 2 of the bolts first or using bolts seems like it would work considering there is specific hole locations. I think the official alignment pins are tapered, but cutoff bolts should work. Cant believe these pins are so hard to find.

I made some pins for my last impeller. They were nice to have, but not critical. Not worth paying for when you can make them with a hack saw and two $0.30 bolts.

I cannot recall. I pulled one of the bolts out and took it with me to the hardware store.

I got these... they work well. I don't recall if I bought them here or on EvilBay. I think I couldn't find them on Iboats when I was looking before...

Reviews of the Sierra part are that they are junk and had to be run through a M6 die so they would work. Also need something for this weekend.

Don't pay for those. Two cheap bolts and a hacksaw.
