Mercury XR150 - LaserII 23P Stainless Prop.

I have some imperfections, albeit minor, on my stainless prop from hitting sand/small rocks. Some are dings, but most are scratches. Needles to say, the mirror finish on this prop is just a memory. I have worked out some of the larger dings with my handy dremmel tool, but I'm afraid of the prop getting out of balance if I take excess material off.

I'm thinking of taking it to a prop shop to have it reworked. What kind of performance improvement are typical with this type of service? They quoted $125, is it worth it?

Is your peace of mind worth $125, compared to what might happen to your shafts if the prop is out-of-balance? JMHO!
Happy Boating!
Brian
PS, minor scratches can be polished off with jeweler's rouge & a fine brush on your Dremel...
