Performance Issue

Would adding a jackplate cause the transom of the boat to sit lower in the water when stopped or idling. It seems that setting the motor further from the transom would create some sort of leverage effect.

Yes, a Jackplate will cause the stern to be lower at rest.<br /><br />How much lower depends on the boat and how it is balanced.<br /><br />When I put one on my BW Montauk I simply moved the battery from the stern to the console, returning the at-rest trim to normal.<br /><br />Good luck. :)
