So, i installed a moeller tank in my basstracker. I bought a filler that is vented and when i ordered the house for it, it was slightly too big and short as well. Before i order another, i found a house at autozone, i believe is a heater hose...i think it's all rubber. It actually fits much better but i dont know if it's safe to use. Any ideas? Does the vent really even come in contact with the fuel anyway?

Look for hose that has SAE J1527 rating. Also you should review the SAE J1527 information online as you are doing a fuel system installation.

Vent lines should be 5/8" dia, so it's larger than the 1/2" feed line to keep the system from vapor locking. Even with the vent in the cap you should order enough vent line to put an upward loop or bend in it.

I would add you should get the SAE J1527 Type A2 and yeah we know how expensive fuel lines are, especially the filler.

Don't be boarded by the Coast Guard for a routine check and have them see that hose, you'll have a problem
