Good morning. I’m currently moving from delco to pertronix distribution. Several questions. My wiring harness for the delco has a purple and grey wire. As I understand it, the grey wire is neutral and the purple wire that comes off the ignition switch splits off to each gauge for power than comes back into 1 wire that goes back to the engine harness and splits 3 ways to the coil, electric choke, and alternator. As per the pertronix manual it only needs a positive connection. Does the neutral from the harness also get connected to the coil? When installed is it as simple as timing to 8deg or has anyone any advice on spring colour and advance limiters? Mercruiser 5.7 vortec. Thanks

grey wire is your tach, purple wire is ignition. standard ABYC wire colors (posted in the electrical forum sticky)

why are you degrading your ignition system by going to pertronix? the delco voyager distributor or the factory thunderbolt system is a much better ignition than the POS pertronix
