I took my puppy to the vet yesterday (SAT) for his distemper shot and two others that I cannot pronounce. They said to come back in 3 weeks for his second round of distemper and his rabies shot. Then they stated that he is done for the year and to come back next March for his annual vaccinations.

I told them that I would like to have him on a 2 or 3 year schedule unless it was the law. They said Ohio has the worst laws regarding pets and that I would be doing a strong mistake by skipping his shots every year or two. So I replied "So it is not the law that says to have them vaccinated yearly. They informed me that it is required to have their shots when they are puppies, but then only have the rabies shot every year.

Here is my delima. FOX News did a report on the dangers of yearly vaccinations. They had shown that dogs that received yearly shots sometimes getting sick and sometimes dying because of the shots. A person that I know had two Huskies that were super great dogs. Shortly after their vaccinations, both had to be put down.

I am trying to find out what is required in other states that have better laws and researh on dogs. I'll be glad to pay the money to keep my pup healty, but I sure don't want to pay to have him sick or crippled.

Your knowledge and experience in this area is strongly appreaciated.....Thanks.....SS
