Picked up a new toy yesterday!

Got one of those in Dash DVD Players with Back up camera and GPS, has anyone played with one of those?

If it works out, I think I will get one with just the DVD and GPS for the boat!

Not in my plan Jig, but it will make the time I sit on the side of the road watching for deer or elk a bit more enjoyable!

The one in my Buddies Mercedes works just fine in the rain, the snow, the wind, the sun!

Been there done that. Becareful there are a lot of automotive dvd players that DO NOT have a power switch..... they rely on key off ignition..By the way its is pretty nice actually to watch dvd's while fishing or just floating down the river.

The one I purchased has a power switch, and believe me, I know how to fix that problem if the next one I get doesn't. When in the service it was amazing how many things we had to add lib to when they finally got out into the field..

I thought it would be a cool feature to have, kinda like remote start. Let me know how it works out and if it doesn't look "gaudy" or super noticeable with the new equipment installed.

One thing that has deterred me is a lot of the cameras I see come with the mirror, and I don't want to lose the on-star button on my current mirror.

the head unit I bought has an input for the rear view camera, I didn't want to put a new gaudy mirror in my car, so I made sure to get one that interfaces with the new head unit.

I had a Pioneer AVH-P6400 retracting 6.5'' LCD in high school, a pos Eclipse/Tomtom AVN2210P 5 years ago, and this year bought a double DIN Pioneer 6.5'' touch screen (can't remember model at the moment).

Some units these days will not allow you to view DVD's while moving regardless of how the parking brake wire is rigged up, which to me is dumb because off-road I should be able choose (though the occasion where I've wanted to drive and watch a DVD hasn't really happened). If I was a trucker and had to sit all day I'd rig it up with a satellite TV system
