New to outboards so this may seem like a stupid question, but how do you choose a prop for an 84 Johnson 90hp, such as pitch and blades? I have a 15'8" KingFisher Tri-Hull. I would like some more top end speed.

Re: Picking a prop

You start with a tachometer so you know what you have now. The goal is to get it within the reccommended full throttle RPM range. If you are looking for a big increase in speed, get a bigger motor. There is only so much you can do with a prop.
