I know some of you were interested in pictures of tower so I figured I'd post them up. I highly recommend this over a tow harness. It's actually high enough we were able to wakeboard behind it. People at the lake were really staring at us, not sure if they have ever seen anyone wakeboarding behind a pontoon. especially since mine isn't a tritoon. Anyways the tower works for now, but this winter I'm going to take it off and pretty up the welds. After that next project is underskinning.

Re: Pictures of my Tow Tower

Thanks for the kind regards. I really wanted something simple and not gigantic like so many of the ones I had seen. I actually made this one to fit in existing bolt holes so it can actually be removed if needed. My only other concern was making sure the motor was out of the way and that it wouldn't hit it even if fully trimmed up for servicing. Looking back I may have wanted to make it a bit taller, although it works perfectly as is. I feel if it would have been taller it would be even easier to wake board behind but most of us just kneeboard.

I will be posting some more pictures once I get it made, but I'm going to make 4 hooks (2 per side) to hang off the side of the boat to hold the kneeboard and wakeboard. I figure this will allow for easy access and keep out of the way on board. I really like that my boat is only 18ft, but sometimes with all the toys can feel crowded. This should solve a couple of issues.

Will do on the pics.

Yeah I could probably sell them, that is if the transoms are the same. Other than that I'd have to have a template of the bolts. Or I suppose I could build them and leave the drilling up to the buyer. I'm honestly not sure how much one of these even costs. I just prefer to fabricate things to my liking. Seems easier than shelling out big bucks only to have to modify it yourself. If anyone was close to me and wanted one I'd definitely be willing to help out.

They're definitely not cheap. I'd love to take you up on your offer, but I'm a pretty good hike from Okie.

If you are interested in one we may be able to work out me making you one and shipping it out. Just a thought. I'd have to see what I have laying around and if i have stuff pre-bent, may be able to work something out for cheap.

Nice work "J".

Thanks. It works good and looks pretty good, but I'd definitely like to clean up the welds and round out the angle iron so the corners aren't as sharp.

I would be interested in having one done up also. I was all excited about trying to find a tow bar, that is until I saw they were costing4 to 5 hundred dollars and were not even made specificly for my boat!

If you guys are interested PM what a tower similar to mind would be worth to you, and I'd be happy to look into fabricating one for your specific boat.

I like what you did ,only I'd want the eye bolt to go over the engine. So it would clear the top of the engine. I want mine to put the anchor line to with a quick ring. It's not easy to anchor a Pontoon boat especially mine . I can't reach the cleats on the end of the toons. It's 24 ft and it's all decking.Even the motor is covered by a platform so I can't reach out to hook anything on it.

Great job on the tower...I have been trying to figure out the best way to build one and I really like yours. I'm like you if I can make it I'm not going to buy it and I have access to a complete fab shop. My question is what size and thickness is the pipe?

I'm not a 100% sure, I just had it lying around and it seemed like it would do the job. I'll measure it and get back to you.

What size boat is that and what size engine? I ask because I have a new Bass Buggy with a 60 hp 4 stroke bigfoot. I'm wondering if I should try this for kneeboarding or would I be wasting my time. Top speed on my toon is only 20mph.

I know of somebody in the Seattle area who made themselves a custom jeep bumper (bending large-diameter metal) and then ended up taking orders from everyone around who wanted one, too.
