Hello
I just finished rebuilding a replacmet trim & tilt unit, (three times) long story, but I won.

There is a long pin that the engine rests on just under the trim hydralic unit. The one on my V8 is not there. Will this cause problems like causeing the dual pins to leak? (the reason for the replacment-rebuild in the first place)

Thanks for the replys in advance.

Re: Pin for engine rest

Are you talking about the horizontal pin that goes throught the holes on both sides of the transom bracket? If so, I don't believe you need it as the motor will rest on the trim rams anyway. I didn't use one on either of my CF V4's, but they ain't a V8. It just limits the amount of down trim/tuck under you have available.

Dave

Re: Pin for engine rest

Thanks much for the reassurance. I thought as much, but did not see any other posts or advice on this.
This is one of those parts that would drive you nuts trying to locate.
