Don't mean to jump on your thread Clanton,

I'll be sipping margaritas at Barnicle Phils in January (safety harbor).
I heard the fishing is not so great then? Is anyone still catching anything that time of year??

Thanks!!

I`m here in Lehigh at the library now. I have to go back to Panama City Friday or Monday. My plan/s are to be back here The first week of September, with boat and RV for the winter. Snook season opens 1 sept.

Hi guys! Fish seem to be biting all times of the year. If you have an RV, consider the ENCORE/KOA in st. james city for a few days, nice location. Can drop your boat in at the fishermans co-op at the end of MARIA DR. Well kept secret, county bought the place for the garbage transfer barges, now open to the public on weekend and holidays. Excellent location, deep channel, not dirty at all.
WOODEE148, if you are on N.CAP. consider going a 1/2 south from barn. phils to FOSTERS BAY ( high tide only). Anchor with the other boats and look for the signs, WELCOME, YOU MAY ENCOUNTER ######. Look for the skinny, tanned, guy with a straw hat with feathers. Boat says NOT FOR HIRE on the side, 16 or the 18 ft. TUPELO HONEY or SWEET MELISSA. A bottle of champaign is approperate. And no, it is a family friendly place!
Would like to meet either of you gentlemen if you are in the area. Great/ friendly site but have only been able to tie up with RODBOLT on a few occasions and he is 1K miles away. Come down and enjoy the place before the tourist from MI and WI start showing up again. regards FRED

Hey Fred,

I'm in Cape Coral and the self-proclaimed worst fisherman in southwest Florida. If you're ever feeling generous and want share some of your expansive knowledge of local waters, watering holes, and fish haunts...let me know. Lunch is on me. Waterfront, Berts, Cabbage Key...whatever.
