Hey guys,
Well, here is a new one for me.
last week I changed out my belt tensioner and serpentine belt. I had to push the steering pump puly in just a bit to line up the belt to all the other pullys.
I hooked up the boat to water, started it up and now I get this very intermittent knocking/pinging noise. Its not in any way in sync with the motor revolutions, but just sounds to be something bouncing around occasionally.
I can almost be sure that the sound is coming from the steering pully. Is it possible that I went a little too far on the adjustment and that is the problem?
The steering pump is BRAND NEW!!
Motor is a 350 chevy
