Pink af turns clear in water system?????

Winterized my pressurized water system with pink af as usual.emptied system of water by opening all faucets with pressure on until nothing was left.Added 4 gals of pink to system and pressure up and turn on each faucet one at a time until pink runs out.As in previous boats,the hotwater side seems to turn to clear when run through the system.I took at least a full gallon out of the hotwater side and it was not pink.Anyone have this happen before???? I have so I am not that concerned but I am very curious.

It's my understanding from travel trailers that a good water filter will remove the color. Is this a possibility?

If you have a hot water heater and forget to drain it? My experience is travel trailers as well.

Take some pink AF diluted in a glass of water. Add a few drops of bleach. Voila...there's the answer!

You didn't say if you actually drained the hot water tank first before running the AF through? After turning on all facets to drain the water your 6 gal hot water tank will still have 6 gallons of fresh water in it unless you open the drain and drain it out. Lots of folks (myself included) usually just drain the hot water tank and take off the input/output hoses and join together to bypass the tank, that way you don't need as much AF to do the system because your not filling the hot water tank.

I guess its time for an experiment !! I will drain off a quart from my hot water side and put it in the freezer and see what we got.I have done the exact same method for 10 years now so I have no doubt about the results but I am curious if it is diluted at all.I will let ya know.Charlie
